Paper and Book Intensive is an annual working sabbatical in the book arts, papermaking, and conservation for seasoned practitioners and motivated beginners. For more than thirty years, participants have gathered together from around the world for two weeks of daily workshops to promote unusual levels of exchange, knowledge and inspiration.
Every year PBI hosts an auction to support work-study scholarships, and in the event of a shortfall, any operating expenses not covered by participant tuition. The auction is a vital part of PBI’s ability to support the scholarship program, and, along with the banquet, is a fun and boisterous conclusion to the session.
…All participants and supporters of PBI are invited to donate pieces to the auction.
How to donate to auction
We accept all sorts of articles for the auction – art work, instructor demo pieces, tools, materials, books, strange and mysterious things found in your attic or at a flea market, stays or instructions at your home or studio, you name it. These items can be brought with you, submitted during PBI sessions, or mailed to us if you are not attending PBI. We are grateful for the generosity of the PBI community – it is what makes the auction such a success and such a fun event.
PBI is also able to accept monetary donations. These gifts go into the PBI General Expense account and are used toward programming costs and for the scholarship fund.
